SOC Analyst

As a SOC Analyst you will be expected to be passionate about:

Collaboratively detect and respond to information security incidents, maintain and follow procedures for security event alerting, and participate in security investigations. You will perform tasks including monitoring, research, classification and analysis of security events that occur on the network or endpoint. You should have familiarity with the principals of network and endpoint security, current threat and attack trends, and have a working knowledge of security principals such as defense in depth.

  • Performs network security monitoring and incident response
  • Maintains records of security monitoring and incident response activities, utilizing case management and ticketing system
  • Monitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to identify security issues for remediation
  • Create, modify, and update Security Information Event Management (SIEM) rules
  • Recognize potential, successful and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises through reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information
  • Communicate alerts to clients regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and other similar documentation
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule within a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center environment

Education/Experience:

  • Must be a problem solver and have natural curiosity about how software solutions work
  • Must be a good communicator with a desire to improve communication skills
  • Must be able to work as a member of an Agile Delivery Team and willing to perform any delivery task including development, test, business analysis, and release engineering
  • Must be able to work on tasks collaboratively or independently with appropriate supervision
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Around 5 years of experience in Data Science
